Now that you have logged in successfully as a Company Administrator on this Web Manager session, it is important to make sure that all the account services and options are properly configured to enable your company employees (users) to register and make the most out of your new virtual assistant service. Your Welcome Page displays the configuration status of your company account. For more on how to complete the configuration of your company account, go to Company Account Setup. This configuration phase should be started once the Evatel Server has been successfully integrated with your internet and telephony infrastructure. Download the document Evatel Integration Guide to learn more on how to integrate the Evatel system into your environment. Consult the FAQs for quick answers to frequently asked questions.
You can use the same Web Portal tools to manage your Evatel service as an in-house solution ( Evatel Server installed on your premises) or as a hosted service ( Evatel used as a subscription service offered by a service provider). A virtual company account called "Public Service" comes with each Evatel system. For in-house solutions, it is recommended to use this account for your company needs.
Each Evatel system comes with a pre-installed virtual company account called "Public Service". This is usually to serve people who subscribe as individuals instead of as members of a company or group. If you installed Evatel as an in-house solution for your enterprise, you will have to use this virtual company account (Public Service) for your organization and customize it as needed. To start customizing this account, you need to login as the System Administrator and click on the "Public Service" company account in the list displayed in the
Companies page. You will then be able to rename the account and perform the configuration tasks described in this section. As a System Administrator, you can also create and configure other company accounts for your branches, divisions or departments.
If your company is using Evatel as a hosted service, then you must have received your company name and admin credentials from your service provider. In this case, you need to login as the Company Administrator to perform the configuration tasks described in this section.
Evatel is a speech-enabled virtual assistant that uses your telephone and messaging environments to give your employees more mobility and more productivity on the road using speech recognition and text synthesis technologies. It turns any phone into a portable office with a personal assistant. It answers calls and forwards them to users everywhere they go. It also gives them interactive speech access to their e-mails, appointments and address book by phone.
Evatel acts on two fronts:
It answers people who call your company and offers them to say the name of the person or service they want to reach ( Virtual Receptionist service). It also answers people who call your employees on their direct line (DID) and routes their calls based on the employee's call forwarding preferences. It uses advanced call filtering and call routing rules to save time while making employees easily reachable for important customers. It checks their status (busy or available), their location (at the office, at home or on the road) and the type of caller before deciding how to handle their calls. It can give users the option to take or reject calls, and once they take a call, it gives them the option to conference in other people.
It greets users when they call and executes their spoken commands such as checking their calendar, reading their e-mails, scheduling their appointments, calling or sending messages to their contacts, setting their phone status and call forwarding, dial telephone numbers for them, and reading their call logs with the option to call people back. The Evatel speech portal is where users order Evatel to perform a variety of tasks using speech commands over the telephone.
